Kivételes tehetségű előadóművész, Prágában tanult. 1808-tól a Pesti Magyar Színtársulat hegedűse. Később Baján lakott. Az ország számos városában rendszeresen hangversenyezett. 1817-ben fellépett Veszprémben és Balatonfüreden is. 1824-ben részt vett a Veszprém vármegyei nótákat kiadó zenetársulati összejövetelen, táncdarabjai szerepelnek a füzetekben. 1828–1830-ban Balatonfüreden komponált. A következő évben Pápán hangversenyezett. 1844-ig több mint kétszáz művet írt. Halálakor Petőfi Sándor búcsúztatta, verset is írt róla.
