Ekkor vallásossága miatt a budapesti Petőfi Gimnáziumba helyezték beosztott tanárnak. 1951-től a Semmelweis Orvostudományi Egyetem Orvosi Fizikai (jelenleg Biofizikai) Intézetébe került, ahol közel két évtizedet töltött el, eleinte tanársegédként, majd 1969-ben történt nyugdíjazásáig egyetemi docensi beosztásban. Hivatása mellett szabad idejében entomológiával foglalkozott. Több rovarcsoport (szitakötők, kérészek, álkérészek, tegzesek, recésszárnyúak) kutatásában ért el számottevő eredményeket. Rovarászként került kapcsolatba Veszprém megyével. A Bakony természeti képe programhoz hivatalosan 1972-ben csatlakozott és egy évtizedig végzett kutatásokat a Bakony hegység területén.
